Tips for Your Lawn!

ZOE Landscaping wants our customers to know that they are our number one priority. That is why we have decided to add a page for some tips for you to make your lawn look better without going in to debt to do so! If you have any questions, or need our assistance with any of these ideas, e-mail us at: zoelandscaping@yahoo.com or call us at: 610-333-6742.

TIPS:

1. A quick, inexpensive way to make your flower beds look updated and healthy and make your current flowers, bushes, and shrubs pop is to add black mulch. Everything, from vibrantly colored flowers to beds full of variances of green, will instantly look newer, healthier, and make the overall look of your house better.

2. Plant a smaller, vibrant flower around a redundant or dull flower bed or walkway to add a pop! We love Celosia for this for a variety of reasons. Celosia is part sun, part shade so essentially it'll get what it needs at some point during the day everyday. It needs normal water so generally summer weather will take care of the watering as well. Celosia typically comes in a vibrant red, orange, yellow, or reddish pink color, but there are new hybrid versions available. They can be found in nurseries, hardware stores' garden centers, and grocery/super stores' garden centers.

3. If you cut your own grass or feel that your landscaper doesn't leave your lawn looking "professionally cut", here's an idea to fix that for you. Edging. Some individual landscapers or homeowners don't take the time or have the equipment to edge your property. Edging along the driveways and walkways, around pavers, around flower beds, and around the bases of bushes and trees can really make your property look complete. Also, weed whacking crack weeds that come up in the cracks in your driveway or between the cracks in your sidewalk and walkways can really cleanup your yard and really make that little difference. If you have a mailbox in your lawn or have your street number on a stone or somewhere decorative in your yard, or even happen to have a telephone poll in your yard or a fence separating your property from a neighbor's, weed whacking is essential. Lawn mowers just can't get up close and simply cutting your grass leaves the grass around those areas high and overgrown. Simply weed whacking the area cleans it all up and makes the overall look of your property much more appealing.

4. If you're trying to sell your home, especially in this rough economy, you want to have every advantage. Your real estate agent may have already suggested this, and if so, they are right. Doing little, simple updates to your yard, especially your front lawn, can really make the difference. People do judge books by their covers and the first thing buyers will see is either the picture of your property or your front yard driving by the "For Sale" sign so don't you want to at least get their attention and into the house? Like we mentioned above, a little black mulch and a pop of color with some appealing and low maintenance flowers is ideal. The cost is low, the work won't take long, and the difference is really worth while! Take a look at our portfolio pages to see the difference a little landscaping can make.
